The great adventures of bycle and me in Scotland. As always with my travel pictures, there's no pictures of people. I do kinda regret not taking pictures of my wonderful hosts and the funny people I met along the way. Oh well. after meeting my host, we went on a 2 hour cycle round Glasgow, checking out all the good spots, including botanic garden, cycled along the river, through lots of lovely parks... unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures during that :(My host was a super lovely Polish woman, working in schools, doing triathlons. Nachdem ich meine Gastgeberin getroffen habe, sind wir ca 2 Stunden durch Glasgow geradelt, sie hat mir die ganzen schönen Fleckchen gezeigt. Wir sind durch den botanischen Garten geradelt, am Fluss entlang, durch viele Parks.. leider hab ich aber keine Fotos gemacht. Meine Gastgeberin war eine sehr liebe Polin, die in Schulen arbeitet und Triathlone macht.

Getting out of Glasgow was kinda difficult, as the sign posting for the sustrans cycle routes was slightly crap. Very frustrating. But then I found it and almost the entire cycle was along rivers :) 
This is the firth of Clyde, where the Clyde river meets the sea.

Aus Glasgow rauszukommen war leider etwas schwierig, weil die Radwege so schlecht beschildert waren. Etwas frustrierend. Als ich den Radweg dann endlich wieder gefunden habe, war er super schön dauernd an Flüssen entlang. 
Das ist der Firth of Clyde, wo der Clyde Fluss ins Meer fliesst.
Cycling along the river Leven, all the way to Loch Lomond. Very pretty.

Danach bin ich am Fluss Leven entlanggeradelt, den ganzen Weg bis zum Loch Lomond. Sehr idyllisch :)

The cycle path next to the loch and the road. The only stretch where the path was actually proper tarmac. Normally it was potholes. 

Der Radweg direkt neben dem Loch und der Strasse. Das is der einzige Abschnitt, der tatsächlich guter Teer war. Ansonsten waren da bloss Schlaglöcher..

From Tarbet, I took the train back to Glasgow. This is overlooking Loch Long, a sea loch, where pirates used to land, then carry their ships the 3 or so miles to Loch Lomond and rob the villages along its shores. 

Von Tarbet hab ich den Zug zurück nach Glasgow genommen. Das Bild ist vom Loch Long, einem Meer-Loch. Da haben früher Piraten angelandet, die Boote dann zum Loch Lomond getragen, und da haben sie dann die anliegenden Dörfer ausgeraubt.
